Background and Education
Vicki McCarthy was born in Salzburg, Austria to a Military family stationed overseas. She graduated from Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, Hawaii and moved to Texas after graduation. She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with a Bachelors of Art degree in 1972. After working in the Business and Accounting field for a while she went back to Law School. She attended and graduated from Baylor University School of Law in 1986 with a J.D., Doctor of Jurisprudence, degree.
Bar Admission
Vicki was admitted to the Texas State Bar upon graduation. She was also admitted to Practice in the United States Federal Court for the Northern District of Texas. Firm History
The Law Office of Vicki McCarthy was formed in 1988 with practice concentrated in two areas: helping the victims of accidents, product injuries and neglect, and assisting clients who are seeking relief from burdensome debt. The firm remains strong in both of these areas today. Pro Bono Activities
In 1996 Vicki McCarthy became active in a new program being initiated by the City of Duncanville, The Duncanville Teen Court. From its inception to date she has been active as a Teen Court Judge and is a strong advocate for the teen court system. Teen Court allows juvenile offenders to be tried and sentenced by their peers. Their punishment is in the form of serving community service hours for charitable organizations in the city. Teen Court provides a valuable service to both the teen offender and the City. Other Interests
Vicki has maintained an active interest in outdoor activities all her life. She has been an avid Scuba Diver, loves to snow ski and horse back ride. She raises antique roses and is a founding member of the Creype Myrtle Society in Texas. Vicki and her son John operate a small cattle ranch south of Dallas in Maypearl, Texas called Longhorn Creek Ranch. They raise Registered Texas Longhorn Cattle. The ranch is a member of the International Texas Longhorn Breeders Association, on organization dedicated to the preservation and breeding of these beautiful and unique cattle which have played such an important roll in the history and settlement of Texas.
